Since 5 people are listed as guests on PERSONALITY, I'm guessing that Steve Allen & Jayne Meadows appeared together on film that day.
ReplyDeleteAccording to http://ctva.biz/US/GameShow/YouDontSay.htm Peter Falk & Joanie Sommers guested on YOU DON'T SAY! this week. I wonder how the show's writers mangled their names for the show's openings that week.
It's a shame that Andy Williams' Christmas special was on so late, given that it was a great show for families. The Osmonds (at least the younger ones, including Jimmy, who was featured this year) had to stay up way past their bedtimes to see themselves on tv. I taped an Andy Williams special off PBS years ago that included parts that I've never seen on any of his DVDs, including a touching part about how the shows brought back great memories of his (by then) deceased parents and how much he missed them.
If Peter Falk is doing NBC game shows this week, he's likely promoting his forthcoming TV movie, "Prescription: Murder", of which you've probably heard.
Delete… which is not a pilot, but that's another story …
My confuser is giving me grief again, which is why this is very brief.
The hockey game on WTCN Chanel 11 must have been one of the few times that the Minnesota North Stars televised a home game during the 19678-68 season.
ReplyDeleteIt obviously wasn't the first home game of the year, but could the team have played their home games for the first two months of the 1967-68 season in an old and temporary arena before their permanent home rink opened? Could this have been the first game in their new permanent home rink?
The old Metropolitan Sports Center - and what a great arena that was! - had opened by the start of the season, but this was the first of, I believe, three home games that they televised each year. I am curious, though, as to how this particular game happened to be chosen.
DeletePerhaps because both the North Stars and Kings(along with the rest of the West division) were expansion teams?
