I like "Tara King Syndrome" - I thought she grew on you as the season progresed, and I would have like to see her do another season.Mitchell Hadleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08695771505209080030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6042603612494762084.post-76117606214237648192023-03-11T10:11:57.923-05:002023-03-11T10:11:57.923-05:00I don't agree with your assessment of Elizabet...I don't agree with your assessment of Elizabeth Baur. She was a different person than Barbara Anderson. It is hard for someone to come into a show where the first actor won an Emmy. Eve Whitfield was a socialite turned police woman. Fran was the daughter of a murdered cop. I saw Fran as the daughter next door. Her wardrobe was not financed by the wealth of her family, but just someone who was a working lady.Sue Clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01884072667977354828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6042603612494762084.post-83616098435780473822022-10-23T10:31:40.290-04:002022-10-23T10:31:40.290-04:00I don't concur with your dismissal of Elizabet...I don't concur with your dismissal of Elizabeth Baur.
Seems to me that we're looking at Tara King Syndrome: the replacement can never be as good as the original.
For the record, Elizabeth Baur is a legacy: her father was a casting director at 20th-Fox, who signed off on her presence on Lancer, among other things.
Early Perry Mason episodes were filmed at Fox, so it stands to reason that Raymond Burr probably knew Jack Baur from that period - and that likely trumps your "doubts".Mike Doranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14427528138598549103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6042603612494762084.post-42686526820707988482022-10-13T09:55:23.385-04:002022-10-13T09:55:23.385-04:00That sounds good!
