- Noting that there are two ...In Which I Presume:<br /><br /> - Noting that there are two Channels 10, one in Duluth (ABC), and the other in Rochester (NBC).<br />Since it would be unlikely that two stations in Duluth would carry <i>Today</i>, I'll make the educated guess that it's the Rochester Channel 10 that's running NBC's early morning show.<br /><br /> - While we're in the neighborhood, the male celeb on NBC's <i>Snap Judgement</i> is Chris <b><i>Cary</i></b>; he's a Brit who'd just put in a year on <i>Garrison's Gorillas</i>, and was apparently headed back to Broadway (he was in the original cast of <i>Camelot</i>).<br /><br /> - The daytime schedule changes on ABC starting next week are:<br /> 12:30: <i>It's Happening</i>, with Paul Revere and the Raiders.<br /> 1:00: <i>Newlywed Game</i>.<br /> 1:30: <i>Dating Game</i>.<br /> 2:00: <i>General Hospital</i>, five years into its ongoing tenure (now 56 and counting).<br /> 2:30: <i>One Life To Live</i>, beginning its own 43-year run starting next week.<br /> 3:00: <i>Dark Shadows</i>, going one half-hour later at the behest of the after-school crowd.<br />All of the above, subject of course to capricious time slot decisions by affiliates (such as many of those Minnesota stations that Mitchell is so fond of).<br /><br /> - The Friday 9:00 pm slot on NBC is usually the property of the news department.<br />As such, the exact content was always subject to last-minute change, which is why <i>To Be Announced</i> appears in most of the station listings here -<br /> - and why KSTP in Minn-StP just gave up and ran a <i>Kraft Suspense Theatre</i> rerun from a few years before (even NBC News didn't command universal respect from affiliates back then).<br /><br />Local note:<br />WFLD, Channel 32 (the Marshall Field-<i>Sun-Times</i> station) has a nightly late-movie showcase, patterned after NYC's old <i>Million-Dollar Movie</i> from years back.<br />Six times this week, Channel 32 is showing <i>The Third Man</i>, the classic thriller with Joseph Cotton and Orson Welles.<br />First showing is Sunday night in prime time, 7:30 to 9:30.<br />Then, late night at 10:30, Monday through Thursday nights.<br />Then on Friday, after the White Sox-Yankees game, starting around 11:15 or thereabouts.<br />At this point, many TV sets in Chicago needed converters to get UHF stations, which didn't exactly help Channel 32 to attract viewers (and '68 was the year that the White Sox fell apart on the field, which didn't help either - and that's another story …).<br /><br />Mike Doranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14427528138598549103noreply@blogger.com
