Later this year, she was a panelist on WHAT'S MY LINE?, and the MG was none other than Hayley Mills, promoting her last Disney movie, "That Darn Cat". The 2 ladies looked very happy to see each other again.Jonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00483417885845331990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6042603612494762084.post-44333921175225865132023-05-01T14:39:13.888-04:002023-05-01T14:39:13.888-04:00I need to get these in while they're fresh in ...I need to get these in while they're fresh in (what's left of) my mind:
- On Danny Kaye's show, they're repeating Peter Falk's first appearance from the previous season ( he made at least one more the following year).
This is pre-Columbo: Falk was still in his "fast-talking tough guy" mode, transitioning into broad comedy with Mad Mad Mad Mad World and Robin And The 7 Hoods; I seem to recall a bit where Peter gives Danny a "tough lesson", which turns out about like you'd expect.

- On the daytime game show beat, I'll Bet, a husband-and-wife quiz show, is featuring Joanna Barnes and her then-husband, Larry Dobkin.
We've had occasion to mention Mr. Dobkin here before: he was an all-rounder - actor, writer, director, voice-over man, who worked non-stop in radio and TV for decades.
On radio, Larry Dobkin was not only Ellery Queen (briefly), but was also Archie Goodwin (also briefly, but they both count), among many other gigs.
Dobkin also turned up in many movies, putting his distinctive voice to work in "authority" roles (The Day The Earth Stood Still and North By Northwest among many others).
It was on TV that Larry Dobkin became a mainstay - on camera (he was "Walter Trump" on the now-notorious Trackdown episode, among much else), off camera (on Naked City, he was the narrator:"There are eight million storiesin the Naked City ... this has been one of them."), and behind the camera (he was a top director of episodic series for over twenty years).
The marriage was short-lived, but Joanna Barnes often worked with Dobkin, even after they were no longer a couple.
I'll Bet aired during the school year, so I was unable to see it; I'll always wonder if Larry Dobkin got to do his many voices during the play of the game (I guess I'll never know ...).

- To cap it all off:
It was that fall ('65) that Peter Falk began his first series, Trials Of O'Brien, still in "fast-talking comic" mode, which co-starred as his ex-wife/romantic interest - Joanna Barnes (see how this all ties together?).Mike Doranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14427528138598549103noreply@blogger.com
