Vitalis, Lucky Strike and some acting.
The Franz Klammer call always seemed to me to be after-the-fact voiceover, but very, very well done, the best of his career.
I recall watching that & thinking Klammer would win or die trying.
And the PP&K library: I devoured those books!Marc Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04604853220531758026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6042603612494762084.post-72262747970367334102015-08-14T09:09:08.475-04:002015-08-14T09:09:08.475-04:00There are guys who do big games, but only a few wh...There are guys who do big games, but only a few who have that "big game sound." Like Frank Gifford, Pat Summerall had it. Ray Scott had the best one. Vin Scully has it on baseball. Mike Emrick has it on hockey. As much as I dislike Joe Buck's style (and I don't hate him as much as some people do), he's got it. But those guys are exceptions.

Personality is bred out of play-by-play guys from the jump today. For example, TV writers and fans have been quick to praise Kevin Burkhardt of Fox the last couple of years, but I don't hear it. He's just a guy doing a game. jabartletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12856624710742851189noreply@blogger.com
