I see that a couple movies where Dick York appeared aired today. WNHC aired "They Came to Cordura", and Mr. York suffered the back injury that affected the rest of his life while filming it, and WOR aired "Inherit the Wind", where he played school teacher, Bert Cates.
ReplyDeleteWow, the Independent stations had far better programming Saturday night than the Networks. Saturday nights were worse then than they are now.
ReplyDeleteApparently the listing for the New York "It's Academic" (slight misspelling there in the listing) did not list the competing schools that day (full disclosure: I'm the honorary historian of the show).
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Gleason show aired a repeat of the "Color Honeymooners" episode "To Whom It May Concern," on which Paul Ford played his boss. (It was a remake of a 1953 "lost" episode, "Letter to the Boss.")
