TV
It's interesting to note how late the Oscars started back then. 9:30 PM CT is the equivalent of 7:30 PM PT, which makes sense for a West Coast nighttime event. I'm sure the show was moved to an earlier time in the future for the benefit of the tv audience. It was probably also moved to Sunday night for the same reason. Nowadays, unfortunately for me, the program has turned into a Hollywood political event, and I think its ratings decline can be attributed in large part to others who think the way that I do about it.
