Because I couldn't care less about the World Cup:
ReplyDeleteAllow me to divert you (and anyone else who reads this) to Max Allan Collins's blog, which he somehow maintains while continuing to turn out top-flight mystery fiction.
In particular, I call your attention to his two most recent posts, from yesterday and the previous Tuesday.
Last week's entry was a tribute/salute/open love letter to his wife, Barbara Collins, on the occasion of their fiftieth (50th) wedding anniversary.
Yesterday, MAC followed this up with an extended tribute to his late father, Max A. Collins Sr.
2018 is turning out to be a busy year indeed for my friends Max and Barb: earlier this year, Max marked his own seventieth birthday, then there's the Golden Wedding Day, and the Mickey Spillane Centenary, plus Max & Barb have more of their own books (separately and together) coming out later in the year, and they're going to be at Centuries & Sleuths in Forest Park in August, where I'll get one of my rare chances to see and talk to them in person …
Anyway, as I said above, way more interesting than the World Cup (to me, anyway).
The rest of you - do what you will.
